Our Past Puppies
By far the most frequent question that I get asked is how can I let these sweet puppies go and doesn't it break my/our hearts?
The answer is a little yes and a lot of no.
I'll try to answer it for you!
1. Imagine that your bestie comes over with her new puppy. You hold it, you love it, and the puppy is insanely cute, and you don't want to let it go but you know that it's not your puppy and you have to. That's the first and smallest part of the equation.
2. We consider ourselves fortunate to be able to do this. For many months and possibly years prior we have studied both parents’ pedigrees- bloodlines, health clearances, training and titles. For decades we have studied confirmation, structure, correct type per the breeds standards, educated in nutrition, husbandry skills and canine reproduction.
Approximately 62 days after pairing, we get to watch and assist as needed with the miracle of birth, living beings coming into this earth during the delivery. We then get to watch each puppy grow, mature, develop, reach milestones and thrive. Spending every day for the next eight to ten weeks raising ridiculously cute, lovable, friendly and now very confident puppies.
Who gets to do that ?
3. And lastly but more importantly, we are so fortunate to be able to hand our puppies over to what we KNOW is a wonderful family/handler/trainers that will love them as much as we do and have. The smiles, the laughter, and yes, even at times, the tears of joy are an experience that very few witness-thus making the long days and sleepless nights well worth all of the effort.
"Puppy go home-pick up day" is absolutely a joy for us. Aiding in matching the puppy that is right for each new human with the human that is the best possible match to each puppy takes time and careful consideration, something we do not take lightly. We get to spend so much time with happy, grateful, and loving families/trainers/handlers and watch as this new puppy family member overcomes them with joy and happiness. Who gets to do that? Who gets to be part of so much happiness in one day? We do ❤️❤️❤️.
